Eduardo Membrano Killed in Head-On Collision on 405 Freeway [Los Angeles, CA]
30-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Crash near Valley Vista Boulevard Exit
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 17, 2025) – Tuesday morning, a head-on collision on 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks took the life of Eduardo Membrano.
The incident happened around 4:06 a.m., along southbound San Diego (405) Freeway, near the Valley Vista Boulevard exit.
Based on the initial investigation, a northbound sedan entered the opposing lanes and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle.
The impact of the first crash led to another collision that involved several other vehicles.
Responding emergency personnel pronounced the wrong-way driver dead at the scene. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased driver as 30-year-old Eduardo Membrano.
Paramedics transported the driver Membrano struck to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center with significant injuries.
Emergency personnel evaluated another person at the scene but declined further medical treatment.
In the end, the CHP issued a SigAlert around 4:26 a.m., closing the southbound 405 lanes as crews cleared the scene.
