1 Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash near Maricopa Freeway Access Road

PHOENIX, AZ (February 18, 2025) – Late Wednesday evening, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on 5th Avenue.

Phoenix Police Officers responded to the scene around 11:40 p.m., near Maricopa Freeway Access Road on February 5th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle struck a male pedestrian in the area. Paramedics arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
