71-Year-Old Man Injured in Pedestrian Vs. Car Collision near West Calle Primera
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 13, 2025) – Thursday evening, a hit-and-run on Via De San Ysidro sent an elderly man to a hospital.
Police officers responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m., at the intersection of 100 Via De San Ysidro and 100 West Calle Primera.
Based on the initial investigation, the male pedestrian crossing the street ran directly into the path of an eastbound vehicle.
Authorities claimed the driver involved made a turn onto Via De San Ysidro as the victim entered the northbound lanes.
The driver then fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. Officials believed the suspect was driving a red Jeep.
Responding medical personnel transported the 71-year-old man to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
