One Pronounced Dead after Auto-Pedestrian Crash near North First Street

FRESNO, CA (February 5, 2025) – Early Monday morning, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Shaw Avenue in Fresno. 

Police responded to reports of the collision shortly before 6:00 p.m., in the area of Shaw Avenue and North First Street. 

Upon arrival, officers located the man at the intersection suffering from major injuries. Medical responders transported the severely injured victim to a local hospital where he later died. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. 

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public, awaiting notification from the next of kin. 

Fresno Officials closed the eastbound Shaw Avenue at First Street for several hours to conduct an investigation.
