29-Year-Old Union City Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Highway 84
PORTOLA VALLEY, CA (January 28, 2025) – Early Monday evening, Justyn Rey Snyder was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 35.
Dispatchers received calls around 5:30 p.m., near Highway 84.
California Highway Patrol officers reported that the driver of a northbound vehicle attempted to pass several other cars by crossing the double yellow lines.
As a result, the northbound vehicle collided head-on with a driver traveling southbound on the same road.
Responding paramedics pronounced the southbound driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the northbound driver was taken to Stanford Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The San Mateo County Coroner’s office later identified the deceased driver as 29-year-old Snyder, of Studio City.
More details surrounding the Highway 35 head-on collision will be released once the investigation has concluded.
