48-Year-Old Hemet Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Collision near State Street

SAN JACINTO, CA (January 28, 2025) – Monday afternoon, a 2-car accident on Quandt Ranch Road claimed the life of Javier Lopez Montes. 

Police officers responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m., near State Street.

Based on the initial report, a sedan collided with another car at the intersection. However, it remains unclear which driver failed to yield, resulting in the incident. 

Paramedics pronounced one of the drivers deceased at the scene. He was later identified as 48-year-old Montes, of Hemet. 

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the other driver to a regional trauma center for further treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

San Jacinto Officials are asking those who witnessed the crash to call the sheriff’s Hemet station at 951-791-3400.
