Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash near Steele Lane
SANTA ROSA, CA (January 22, 2025) – Late Saturday evening, one man was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 101.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 10:10 a.m., near Steele Lane on January 4th.
Upon arrival, first responders located the man lying on the roadway.
Paramedics arrived and declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene due to the extent of injuries sustained. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.
Emergency crews say the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police officers. At this time, the suspect still remains at large.
Responding personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
