Woman Fatally Injured in Truck Vs. Pedestrian Crash near Sutterville Road Off-Ramp
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 5, 2025) – Early Thursday morning, one woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Interstate 5.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene shortly after 5:00 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near the Sutterville Road off-ramp and Riverside Boulevard.
According to investigators, the driver of a Dodge Ram swerved into the fifth lane to avoid hitting a woman in the fourth lane.
Despite the evasive maneuvers of the driver, the Dodge still hit the pedestrian. The woman was then struck by two other big-rigs traveling in the same direction as the Ram.
The coroner’s office pronounced the woman, only identified to be in her 50s, dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released her name or place of residency.
Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided.
