34-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in DUI Collision near McArdle Road
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (January 15, 2025) – Sunday, David Tinglas-Suanzin died and Nadine Tijerina was arrested after a crash on Ayers Street.
Dispatchers received calls around 1:30 a.m., near McArdle Road on December 22nd.
Reports indicate that Tijerina was driving a vehicle south in the 4800 block of Ayers Street and struck Tinglas-Suanzin who was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk on the roadway.
Paramedics quickly transported 34-year-old Tinglas-Suanzin to a nearby hospital where he later passed away.
Moreover, troopers determined that Tijerina was intoxicated at the time and took her to a nearby hospital. Upon her release, police took her into the City Detention Center where she faced intoxication manslaughter.
In addition, officers also charged Tijerina with possession of marijuana after finding marijuana inside her vehicle.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still underway.
