Driver Killed in Head-On Collision on Barton Springs Road [Austin, TX]
One Pronounced Dead after Van vs. Sedan Crash near Andrew Silker Road
AUSTIN, TX (December 11, 2024) – Thursday evening, one driver was killed in a head-on collision on Barton Springs Road.
Authorities responded to the 2700 block of Barton Springs Road near Andrew Silker Road around 8:45 p.m., on November 21st.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle was traveling the wrong-way and collided head-on with another car. Investigators say a van and a sedan were involved.
First responders transported the driver of the van to Dell Seton Medical Center where he later passed away. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Moreover, the driver and passenger of the sedan sustained minor injuries. Paramedics quickly transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, an active investigation into the head-on collision on Barton Springs Road is still currently underway.
