Man Dead, 1 Arrested after DUI Collision on Kearny Boulevard [Fresno County, CA]
Man Fatally Injured in Double-Car Crash near Fair Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (December 11, 2024) – Sunday morning, one man died and another was arrested after a DUI collision on Kearny Boulevard.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 1:50 a.m., just west of Fair Avenue.
Per reports, the driver of a westbound vehicle veered off the road and onto the dirt shoulder. The vehicle then caught fire, causing life-threatening injuries to the driver.
Responding medics pronounced the 21-year-old male driver dead at the scene. While officers investigated the wreckage, a DUI driver collided with the patrol vehicle.
The impact of the second collision caused minor injuries to the suspect driver. Meanwhile, the CHP officers remained uninjured.
Following preliminary duties, crews booked the suspect driver into Fresno County jail for suspected DUI.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Fresno County Officials will release more information about the fatal Kearny Boulevard double car crash once available.
