49-Year-Old ISD Teacher Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Accident on Thomas Arnold Road
SALADO, TX (October 30, 2024) – Wednesday evening, Kimberley Kosh-Ruiz was killed and Grant Ruiz was hurt in a crash on Thomas Arnold Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m., on October 23rd after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Kimberly went to pick up her son, 9-year-old Grant, at Salado ISD and drove into the westbound lanes.
Kosh-Ruiz then collided with a Ford Pickup driven by a 26-year-old man. Paramedics arrived and transported Kimberly and her son to Baylor Scott and White ER. There, 49-year-old Kimberly succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, crews listed 9-year-old Grant in stable condition.
Medical personnel also transported the Ford driver to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Investigators say Kosh-Ruiz was a second-grade teacher at Thomas Arnold Elementary School. She will be deeply missed by her community.
At this time, the authorities have not added additional information about the crash, and further investigation remains ongoing.
