1 Killed, 20-Year-Old Man Arrested after 2-Car Collision near Green Oaks Boulevard

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (October 31, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Hector Garcia was arrested after a fatal DUI crash on Highway 360.

Authorities responded to the scene shortly before 1:00 a.m., at the 4500 block of Highway 360 near Green Oaks Boulevard on October 19th.

Per reports, 20-year-old Garcia was driving a GMC SUV when he rear-ended a Toyota that was traveling slowly with its hazard lights on in the southbound lanes.

Due to the impact of the collision, the driver of the Toyota succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Although, police officers have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Following preliminary duties, investigators later confirmed that Hector Garcia drove while intoxicated during the accident. Consequently, he now faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and is held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
