71-Year-Old Man and 35-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Solo-Car Accident near East Fairmount Street
TUCSON, AZ (November 1, 2024) – Thursday morning, Andrea Wass and David Konsynski died in a single-vehicle crash on North Alvernon Way.
Dispatchers received calls around 5:30 a.m., in the 1400 block of North Alvernon Way near East Fairmount Street on October 17th.
During the initial investigation, authorities discovered that a maroon Chevy Equinox was heading south on Alvernon.
The vehicle then veered off the road and crashed into a utility pole. The collision caused the pole to topple and sparked a fire on the roof of a nearby two-story apartment complex
Emergency responders quickly rushed the driver, who suffered serious injuries, to a nearby hospital. They also transported 35-year-old Andrea Wasson, who was critically injured.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 71-year-old Konsynski deceased. On Friday, authorities learned that Wass had also succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, law enforcement continues to gather details about the single-vehicle crash on North Alvernon Way and plans to update the public once they have more information. Additionally, police believe that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
