72-Year-Old Fresno Woman Killed in Single-Truck Collision near 4th Street

FOWLER, CA (October 4, 2024) – Early Saturday afternoon, Lauri Redell was killed in a solo-car accident on Tuolumne Street.

Around 12:30 p.m., police officers received calls near 4th Street. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after. 

Based on the initial report, a woman driving a Model A Ford vintage pickup-truck crashed into a tree. However, further circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.  

Responding officers said they found community members performing CPR on the female driver upon arrival. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the woman died at the scene. 

The coroner’s office later identified the deceased driver as 72-year-old Redell, of Fresno.

Investigators said the crash happened after the woman left the Pharaoh’s Car Show at Panzak Park. Early reports suggest that the driver may have suffered a medical emergency while driving.

At this time, the Fowler Police Department and the California Highway Patrol are leading the investigation of the crash.
