One Arrested after Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision near Lomas Boulevard

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (October 8, 2024) – Sunday, authorities arrested Nikole Zamora after a deadly multi-car accident on 2nd Street Northwest.

Around 7:30 p.m., police officers responded to the scene near Lomas Boulevard on September 22nd.

Investigators say Zamora was driving east on Lomas Boulevard and traveled through a red light at the intersection.

As a result, he collided with a northbound vehicle that was traveling through a green light.

In addition, three other vehicles that were stopped on westbound Lomas Boulevard became involved.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the driver of one of the vehicles dead at the scene. In addition, their passenger suffered critical injuries.

Following preliminary duties, officers determined that Nikole Zamora ran through multiple red lights before the collision. Zamora now faces charges of homicide by vehicle, great bodily harm by vehicle, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, and failure to obey a traffic light.
