Unidentified Man Killed in Skateboarding Crash near Marshall Avenue

CARMICHAEL, CA (September 18, 2024) – A skateboarding accident on Fair Oaks Boulevard took the life of one man, Monday evening.

Dispatchers received calls on the westbound lanes of Fair Oaks Boulevard just west of Marshall Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

First responders arrived to the scene shortly after. California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of a westbound Chevrolet Suburban SUV struck a man who was riding a skateboard in the right lane.

Due to the impact of the crash, medics pronounced the male victim dead at the scene. Officials only described the deceased victim as a man in his 20s.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations. Following preliminary duties, authorities do not suspect drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the incident. 

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased victim once available. 

An active investigation to determine further information about the fatal skateboarding accident on Fair Oaks Boulevard is still currently underway.
