33-Year-Old Porterville Man Seriously Injured in Bicycle Collision near Putnam Avenue

PORTERVILLE, CA (September 16, 2024) – Late Monday night, a man was sent to a hospital following a bicycle accident on North Newcomb Street. 

The collision happened shortly after 11:55 p.m., at the intersection of North Newcomb Street and West Putnam Avenue. 

Per reports, a man was riding a bicycle north on Newcomb against the flow of traffic. The cyclist then collided with a motorist in the southbound lane. 

Paramedics rushed the bicyclist to Kaweah Delta Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The other driver involved at the scene was not injured from the crash. 

At this time, the Porterville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation.
