72-Year-Old Selma Man Pronounced Dead after Tractor vs Pickup-Truck Collision near Temperance Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (September 16, 2024) – Monday evening, Alionso Jimenez Perez was killed in a farm-tractor accident on Floral Avenue.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 8:18 p.m., just west of Temperance Avenue.

Reports indicate that the driver of an eastbound Toyota Tacoma failed to see a tractor ahead, and consequently rear-ended it.

The impact ejected the tractor driver, 72-year-old Perez, onto the dirt shoulder.

First responders declared the tractor driver dead at the scene. Later, the coroner’s office identified the deceased victim as 72-year-old Perez, of Selma.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Tacoma remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Following preliminary duties, California Highway Patrol officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor.

At this time, Fresno County authorities are currently working to determine further information.
