21-Year-Old Lake Elsinore Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision near Highway 74
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (September 5, 2024) – Monday morning, Tudda Teeanna Tran was arrested and Melissa Lopez died in a DUI crash on 15 Freeway.
Police officers responded to the scene around 3:15 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Highway 74.
Investigators say the driver of a white Chevrolet Cruze sedan was traveling at high rates of speed. The Chevy then rear-ended a tow-truck on the freeway.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced one of the passengers of the Chevrolet dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 21-year-old Lopez, of Lake Elsinore.
Following preliminary duties, officers arrested the Chevy driver, 21-year-old Tran, also of Lake Elsinore for driving under the influence. Medics also took Tran to a nearby hospital for further treatment of serious injuries.
