24-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Car Vs. Pedestrian Crash near Winnetka Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 5, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian accident along the 101 Freeway took the life of Tianqi Wang.
The fatal collision happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. along the southbound lane 101 near Winnetka Avenue.
Based on the initial investigation, a pedestrian attempted to cross the freeway for unknown reasons. However, a vehicle struck the person, sending the pedestrian to the opposite side of the freeway.
The first responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Later, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 24-year-old Wang.
Ultimately, the CHP closed two north and southbound lanes of 101 Freeway as crews cleared the scene.
