66-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Atkinson Avenue

KILLEEN, TX (September 23, 2024) – Wednesday morning, one woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on 38th Street.

The Killeen Police Department responded to the scene around 8:50 a.m., near Atkinson Avenue on August 7th.

Reports indicate that the driver of a gray Ford pickup-truck was heading east of Atkinson and attempted to make a turn onto northbound 38th Street.

There, the Ford struck a woman who was crossing within a marked crosswalk on westbound 38th Street.

First responders located the female pedestrian on the roadway with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics quickly transported her to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where she later passed away at 9:26 a.m.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased woman. An active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
