22-Year-Old Speeding Motorcyclist Killed in SUV Crash near West Massingale Road

TUCSON, AZ (August 26, 2024) – Tuesday evening, Liam Gulyas was killed in a motorcycle collision on North Thornydale Road.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene just before 6:00 p.m., just north of West Massingale Road on August 6th.

Police officers say Gulyas was riding a motorcycle at approximately 100 mph. Meanwhile, the driver of an SUV was attempting to make a U-turn at the intersection.

Per reports, the motorcyclist failed to slow down and lost control before crashing into the SUV, ejecting the rider onto the road. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 22-year-old Gulyas deceased at the scene.

Medics also say the SUV driver remained uninjured. Following preliminary duties, no charges were filed against the driver.
