29-Year-Old Rider Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash near Sherman Way

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 21, 2024) – Late Friday night, Labrin Gomez was killed in a motorcycle collision on 170 Freeway. 

First responders arrived to the scene around 11:56 p.m., near Sherman Way in North Hollywood.

Upon arrival, California Highway Patrol officers learned that a motorcycle and a car collided in the northbound lanes. However, the cause of the collision continues to be under investigation. 

Responding emergency personnel declared the involved motorcyclist dead at the scene. On Saturday, officials identified the deceased rider as 29-year-old Labrin Gomez.

It was unclear whether the driver of the car suffered injuries from the incident. 

In the end, Los Angeles Officials closed the three lanes of the 170 Freeway to conduct an investigation. All lanes have since reopened.
