22-Year-Old Female Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Racing Collision near Camelback Road

PHOENIX, AZ (August 15, 2024) – Sunday night, Rylee Garcia was killed in a street-racing motorcycle crash on Interstate 17.

Dispatchers received calls around 9:20 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Camelback Road on August 11th.

Reports indicate that Garcia was racing two other vehicles while riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The rider then lost control and swerved across three lanes of traffic before striking a concrete median.

The impact ejected Garcia onto the road, where she was hit by a Dodge Charger that was also racing.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 22-year-old Garcia deceased at the scene.

Law enforcement is actively investigating the street-racing crash near Camelback Road to gather more information. Once available, further details will be provided.
