Two Passengers Pronounced Dead after Red-Light Accident near Thomas Road
AVONDALE, AZ (August 8, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, Kamryn Slivers was arrested and two were killed in a red-light crash on Dysart Road.
Around 12:30 a.m., police officers responded to the scene near Thomas Road on August 4th.
Officers say 19-year-old Slivers was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer north on Dysart Road.
Meanwhile, the driver of a Chryler 200 was heading south and made a turn onto eastbound Thomas Road. Reports indicate that Slivers traveled through a red light and collided with the Chrysler who was making a turn.
The impact pushed the Mitsubishi into a traffic pole, ejecting a male passenger onto the road. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported Slivers and several other passengers to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Medics later pronounced another male passenger deceased.
Following preliminary duties, police confirmed that both Slivers and the other driver were impaired during the incident.
Eventually, the authorities arrested Slivers and took him into Avondale City Jail where he faces DUI-relate charges, manslaughter, and aggravated assault.
No additional information regarding the crash has been disclosed publicly at this time.
