Rider Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Collision near Nordhoff Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 15, 2024) – Early Friday morning, one rider was pronounced dead after a motorcycle accident on 405 Freeway.

Officers responded to the scene around 2:11 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Nordhoff Street.

Upon arrival, California Highway Patrol officers learned that the driver of a dark sedan collided with a motorcyclist. The impact sent the rider into the middle lanes of the freeway. 

First responders declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

It was unclear if the driver of the dark sedan involved sustained injuries from the crash. 

At this time, authorities have yet to determine the cause of the incident. The LAPD will release the identity of the deceased motorcyclist once available. 

California Highway Patrol officers issued a SigAlert in the area of Nordhoff Street and the northbound lanes of 405 for several hours. 

There are currently no further details publicly available about the fatal two-vehicle crash, but authorities will provide more details once they become accessible.
