Man Fatally Injured in Pickup-Truck vs Pedestrian Accident near Road 25
MADERA COUNTY, CA (August 12, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, a man was killed and a woman was hurt in a pedestrian collision on Avenue 12.
California Highway Patrol officials responded to the scene around 3:40 a.m., near the intersection of Avenue 12 and Road 25.
Based on the initial investigation, the driver of a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado hit a man and woman on the road. The 44-year-old male driver then exited the Silverado and contacted emergency services.
Responding paramedics declared the unidentified male victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Clovis woman was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of significant injuries.
Police said the crash area was dark, and the pedestrian wore dark clothing. Intoxication is not a suspected cause of the incident.
Authorities have refrained from releasing further information about the crash to the public. Officers will provide more details once available.
