Daniel Scott Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on North Owens Street [Big Spring, TX]
31-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Accident near North Benton Street
BIG SPRING, TX (July 1st, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Daniel Scott was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash on North Owens Street.
The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m., near North Benton Street at the 600 block of North Owens Street on June 8th.
A friend of Scott later told officers that he and Scott were walking home when the driver of a pickup-truck struck him. Investigators say the driver slowed down briefly before fleeing the scene without contacting police.
Upon arrival, authorities located 31-year-old Scott on the ground.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced Scott dead at the scene.
The BPD Criminal Investigations Division described the pickup-truck as a 2015-2020 dark-colored Chevrolet 1500 extended cab. At this time, the suspect was not yet apprehended, and further investigation is ongoing. Witnesses are urged to call the CrimeStoppers at 432-263-TIPS (8477).
