Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Speeding Collision near Seawall Boulevard

GALVESTON, TX (July 2nd, 2024) – Late Sunday afternoon, one rider was fatally struck in a motorcycle accident on 33rd Street.

Police officers responded to the scene around 5:10 p.m., near Seawall Boulevard on June 23rd.

Investigators say a motorcyclist was traveling at high rates of speed in the westbound lanes of Seawall Boulevard. The rider then slammed into a vehicle that was attempting to turn onto Seawall from 33rd Street.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

Emergency crews blocked off the intersection for several hours during clearing operations. Following preliminary duties, no charges or arrests were made.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
