20-Year-Old Lemoore Man Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision near Hilltop Lane

MADERA COUNTY, CA (July 23, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, one man was killed in an RV vs motorcycle crash on Highway 49.

Police officers arrived to the scene around 3:50 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Hilltop Lane. 

California Highway Patrol officers say the motorcyclist lost control while negotiating a curve in the road. As a result, the rider sideswiped a northbound recreational motor home driven by a 26-year-old woman. 

First responders declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Officials only identified the deceased rider as a 20-year-old man from Lemoore. 

Meanwhile, the female RV driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Medics say she was not injured in the collision. 

Emergency personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Madera County Officials will provide more information regarding the Highway 49 motorcycle crash once available.
