Kimberly Higgins Dies in 2-Car Accident on Simpson Road [Winchester, CA]
51-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near California Avenue
WINCHESTER, CA (June 25, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, Kimberly Higgins was killed in a 2-car accident on Simpson Road.
The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m., near California Avenue on June 23rd.
The Riverside County Fire Department say the 53-year-old male driver of a Chevrolet Cruze was heading west on Simpson Road. The 17-year-old male driver of a Jeep then failed to yield the right-of-way upon entering the intersection, and broadsided the Chevy.
Paramedics arrived and airlifted one of the victims to a nearby hospital where she died about five hours later. Authorities identified her as 51-year-old Higgins, of Hemet.
Medics also transported two other occupants to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Moreover, the driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries, and did not require hospitalization.
Following preliminary duties, alcohol or drugs was ruled out as a potential factor of the crash. At this time, further investigation remains underway.
