43-Year-Old Passenger Killed in DUI Head-On Collision near Cornelia Avenue
FRESNO, CA (June 24, 2024) – Early Thursday, Adeline Ramos was killed and Amadeo Manera was arrested after a DUI crash on Highway 180.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 12:15 a.m., near Cornelia Avenue on June 20th.
Investigators say Manera was driving a 2019 Nissan Versa west and veered out of his lane. As a result, the Versa collided head-on with an eastbound 2007 Nissan Sentra, driven by Ramos.
Paramedics arrived and transported the driver and passenger of the Sentra to Community Regional Medical Center Fresno for further treatment of serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, 43-year-old Ramos later succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested 21-year-old Manera after he was discharged. Police stated that alcohol is the major factor of the collision, and officers charged Manera with DUI.
At this time, the police have not added additional information, and the crash remains under investigation.
