41-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Collision near Trefoil Lane
COTTONWOOD, CA (June 24, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, one man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash on Balls Ferry Road.
The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes of Balls Ferry Road just north of Trefoil Lane on June 19th.
Investigators say the driver of a white Ford F-350 was traveling south at high rates of speed and failed to negotiate a curve. As a result, the Ford lost control and veered off the roadway before crashing into a log.
The impact sent the log into the path a nearby pedestrian, causing life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of their condition, medics pronounced the 41-year-old male victim deceased.
Meanwhile, the driver fled the scene and abandoned the Ford. Further investigation remains ongoing, and witnesses are urged to contact the officials at 530-225-0500.
