Woman Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Cochrane Road [Morgan Hill, CA]
19-Year-Old Female Rider Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Accident near Mission View Drive
MORGAN HILL, CA (June 17, 2024) – Tuesday evening, a motorcycle crash on Cochrane Road took the life of a female rider.
Dispatchers received calls around 9:20 p.m., near Mission View Drive.
Based on initial investigations, the 19-year-old female rider of a 2023 Yamaha R7 rear-ended a 2023 Kia Forte while traveling in the left lane. The motorcyclist then collided with a 2016 Ram 2500, ejecting the rider from the motorcycle.
According to California Highway Patrol officers, the Yamaha continued in the next lane where it struck a 2009 Ford Escape.
First responders declared the 19-year-old female rider dead at the scene. However, her identity remains undisclosed by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
At this time, authorities are working to determine whether intoxication contributed to the incident.
Morgan Hill officials are asking those who witnessed the fatal Cochrane Road multi-vehicle crash to contact their offices as soon as possible.
