Female Driver Pronounced Dead after Cement Mixer Collision near Pioneer Parkway

YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ (June 18, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, one woman was killed in a cement-truck crash on Williamson Valley Road.

Authorities responded to the scene around 12:00 p.m., near Pioneer Parkway on June 5th.

Investigators say a vehicle was stopped in the northbound lanes when another vehicle attempted to overtake the stopped vehicle.

The two cars then collided, sending one into the path of a nearby cement-truck. Furthermore, the cement-truck crashed into a guard rail while one of the vehicles came to rest on the dirt shoulder.

Paramedics airlifted the driver of one of the vehicles to Deer Valley Hospital with critical injuries. However, the driver’s wife who was riding in the passenger seat died on her way to the hospital.

Following preliminary duties, officers did not suspect impairment as a factor in the collision. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information about the cement-truck crash on Williamson Valley Road is still currently underway.
