Two Drivers Killed in Wrong-Way Collision near East Grayson Road
TURLOCK, CA (June 18, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a head-on crash on Geer Road killed Jesus Hernandez-Perez and Dominique Cardenas.
Around 4:00 p.m., first responders arrived just south of East Grayson Road.
CHP officers say the driver of a 2013 Lexus was heading south and crossed over the double yellow lines.
As a result, the Lexus collided head-on with an oncoming 1996 Toyota sedan. Due to the impact of the crash, both drivers suffered fatal injuries.
Authorities later identified the deceased Lexus driver as 25-year-old Cardenas, of Turlock and the Toyota driver as 36-year-old Hernandez-Perez, of Modesto.
Following preliminary duties, officers believe intoxication played a factor. At this time, the California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
