Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Molino Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (June 18, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway.

Authorities responded to the scene at the 2600 block of PCH, near Molino Avenue around 2:30 a.m. 

Investigators say the driver of an eastbound vehicle struck the man while he was walking outside of a marked crosswalk. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid.

Shortly after, the driver of a 2017 Kia Sportage struck the man who was propelled into the No.1 lane. According to the Kia driver, a white truck also hit and dragged the victim east of Molino Avenue before fleeing the scene. 

First responders declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Kia Sportage stayed at the site of the crash and cooperated with the investigators. 

Long Beach Officials are asking those who witnessed the crash to contact local police as soon as possible. Once available, more details will be provided about the fatal pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway.
