27-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in DUI Accident near 19th Street

CANYON, TX (June 12, 2024) – Early Monday, Brittany Torres was killed and Ulise DeLao was arrested after a pedestrian crash on 10th Avenue.

Police officers received calls around 1:00 a.m., at the 1900 block of 10th Avenue near 19th Street on May 27th.

Reports indicate that 28-year-old DeLao struck Torres while she was standing outside of her vehicle. Upon arrival, first responders located Torres lying unconscious on the road.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced 27-year-old Torres, deceased at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, authorities arrested DeLao and charged him with Intoxication Manslaughter. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
