Pamela Verhanes Involved, Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Shasta Dam Boulevard [Shasta Lake, CA]
88-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near McConnell Avenue
SHASTA LAKE, CA (June 11, 2024) – Monday afternoon, Pamela Verhanes was involved in a fatal pedestrian crash on Shasta Dam Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the scene around 1:15 p.m., just west of McConnel Avenue.
Crews say the driver of a westbound Cadillac sedan struck a woman who was attempting to cross the Shasta Dam Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk.
Responding paramedics transported the 88-year-old female pedestrian to a local hospital where she died from her injuries Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Cadillac driver, identified as 57-year-old Pamela Verhanes, of Shasta Lake remained at the scene. Authorities cited Verhanes for driving at an unsafe speed and having an object objecting to the driver’s view.
The identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public at this time. Once available, more details will be provided.
