Two Men Pronounced Dead after Van Collision near Bundy Canyon Road

WILDOMAR, CA (June 5, 2024) – Early Monday morning, Juan Carlos Poblete and another victim were killed in a fiery crash on 15 Freeway.

Just before 12:40 a.m., police officers responded to the scene on the southbound lanes of the freeway just north of Bundy Canyon Road on May 27th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a 1999 GMC Savana veered off the road and struck a guard rail before traveling across the lanes. The van eventually went up a nearby embankment, ejecting both occupants from the vehicle.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 22-year-old Poblete, of Wildomar and another 39-year-old man dead at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, police suspected alcohol as a factor in the collision, and further investigation remains ongoing. Once available, more details will be provided.

Sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Juan Carlos Poblete and one other deceased. Our thoughts are with them during this very difficult time.
