50-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Interstate 10
TUCSON, AZ (May 27, 2024) – Monday afternoon, Marco Rivera Jr. died in a sedan vs pickup truck collision on East Ajo Way.
Just after 4:00 p.m., officers arrived at the 2200 block of East Ajo Way near Interstate 10 on May 20th.
Officers say the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup-truck was heading west and struck a Nissan Altima that was attempting to turn left into a parking lot from the eastbound lanes.
Investigators later determined that the Nissan was driven by 50-year-old Rivera Jr.
Emergency responders declared Rivera dead at the scene due to the extent of his condition. Meanwhile, no one inside the F-250 truck sustained injuries.
Investigators are actively conducting an ongoing investigation regarding the sedan vs pickup truck collision on East Ajo Way. Following preliminary duties, officers do not suspect impairment as a factor in the crash. Once they obtain more information, they will make it available.
