Young Girl Fatally Injured in 3-Car Accident on Highway 41 [Madera County, CA]
11-Year-Old Girl Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near Road 406
MADERA COUNTY, CA (May 22, 2024) – An 11-year-old girl was fatally injured Saturday evening, in a 3-car accident on Highway 41.
Authorities responded to the scene around 5:38 p.m., just south of Road 406 at Jewel Vista Court.
Officers say the driver of a southbound white GMC Yukon veered west off the side of the road. The Yukon then collided with a large boulder and veered back into the path of a silver Chevrolet Silverado.
Subsequently, a white Buick Enclave rear-ended the Silverado. Despite life-saving efforts of good Samaritans in the area, the 11-year-old girl occupying the left-rear seat of the Yukon died from her injuries.
Medical responders transported two other juveniles to Valley’s Children’s Hospital for treatment of moderate to major injuries. Meanwhile, crews moved the male Yukon driver and the woman sitting in the right front passenger seat to Community Regional Medical Center.
Police said the Buick driver was also hospitalized while the driver of the Silverado was unharmed.
Emergency personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Madera County Officials will provide more information regarding the fatal 3-car accident on Highway 41 once available.
