Motorcycle Collision near Rosecrans Street Left One Dead, One Seriously Injured
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 3, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a motorcycle accident on Interstate 8 killed a male rider, and left a woman injured.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the eastbound lanes of the freeway around 3:30 p.m., just west of the Rosecrans Street off-ramp.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the rider of a black Yamaha motorcycle rear-ended a Ford F-150 pickup-truck. Investigators say the pickup truck was resting on the road due to heavy traffic.
In addition, reports stated the motorcyclist was splitting lanes while traveling at an unknown rate of speed.
Due to the extent of his condition, first responders declared the male motorcyclist dead at the scene. Paramedics also rushed his 19-year-old female passenger to a nearby hospital for treatment of significant injuries.
Meanwhile, the 59-year-old man from Murrieta driving the pickup-truck stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased victim. Once available, more details will be provided.
