1 Killed, 2 Injured in Wrong-Way Accident on Northbound FM 1788
ANDREWS COUNTY, TX (March 11, 2024) – Early Friday morning, Peter Edin Bouton was killed in a wrong-way crash on FM 1788.
The incident occurred around 6:12 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway.
According to reports, Bouton was driving a southbound 2017 Toyota Corolla and veered into the northbound lanes. As a result, the Toyota struck an oncoming Dodge Ram 2500.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced 32-year-old Bouton, of Lufkin dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the driver of the Dodge, 54-year-old Jabier Luna, from El Paso to a nearby hospital for further treatment. In addition, medics took a passenger from the Dodge, 22-year-old Rogelio Herrera, from Rio Grand City, Texas to a hospital.
