2 Pronounced Dead after Rollover Accident on West Loma Alta Drive

ALTADENA, CA (March 12, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, a high-speed crash on Loma View Drive killed John Michael Ross and Emalie Marie Ortiz.

First responders arrived to the scene around 1:00 a.m., near West Loma Alta Drive.

Per reports, the driver of a vehicle was traveling at about 60 mph in a 30 mph zone. The speeding vehicle eventually struck a parked car and rolled over.

Emergency personnel located the overturned vehicle engulfed in flames. Crews worked to extract both occupants before pronouncing them dead at the scene.

Authorities later identified the deceased victims as 29-year-old Ross, of Altadena and 23-year-old Ortiz, of Alhambra.

At this time, further events leading up to the incident remain unclear. However, an active investigation to determine more details is still currently underway.
