Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Crash near San Gabriel Road
ATASCADERO, CA (March 5, 2024) – A man was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident on El Camino Real last Friday evening.
Police responded to the fatal incident around 8:30 p.m. along El Camino Real, near the intersection of San Gabriel Road.
Upon arrival, the officers located the man suffering from fatal injuries. Despite the life-saving efforts of the first responder, the man died at the scene.
At this time, authorities have not released the identity of the deceased victim.
In the end, officials closed El Camino Real for at least two hours as crews investigated and photographed the scene. Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the incident.
Additionally, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the highway has since been reopened.
