55-Year-Old Woman Killed, 23-Year-Old Man Injured in Head-On Collision near Three Lakes Road

SNOHOMISH, WA (March 5, 2024) – Early Wednesday evening, Tu Thanh Thi Lam was killed in a head-on accident on State Route 2.

Police officers responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Three Lakes Road on February 21st.

Officers say a 23-year-old man was driving a westbound 2007 Toyota Highlander and veered into the eastbound lanes. There, the Highlander struck a 2018 Toyota Sienna, driven by Lam.

Due to the impact of the crash, both drivers became trapped inside their vehicles. The Snohomish County Fire District #4 and Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue extricated both drivers.

Medics later pronounced 55-year-old Lam dead at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, it was not made clear whether or not the other driver will face charges. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
