34-Year-Old Woman Dies in Pedestrian Accident near Piccoli Road
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (February 29, 2024) – Late Sunday evening, Kayla Cotton was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Waterloo Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 11:20 p.m., near Piccoli Road.
Per reports, a K9 deputy struck a pedestrian while traveling eastbound on Waterloo at an unknown rate of speed. Upon impact, the deputy pulled over and attempted to render first aid until paramedics arrived.
Despite life-saving efforts, first responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as 34-year-old Kayla Cotton.
