One Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Esplanade
CHICO, CA (February 29, 2024) – Late Sunday evening, Eliasar Seadler was involved in a fatal semi-truck vs pedestrian crash on Highway 99.
The incident occurred around 11:17 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Esplanade.
Based on initial investigation, Seadler was driving a 2017 Peterbilt semi-truck and struck a pedestrian. The driver then came to a stop on the right shoulder of the freeway.
First responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. However, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Meanwhile, the truck driver – 49-year-old Eliasar Seadler of Oroville – remained at the site of the crash. Police do not suspect intoxication to be a factor in the collision.
